Official Idahoans

We spent the majority of the week, packing, moving, cleaning, and unpacking. We rented a small home in CDA near my office (see above pics). Moving is really not that much fun at all but I am glad we finally made it out to Idaho. It’s truly a wonderful state and CDA is a great city. Thank you all for your prayer and moving help, as we couldn’t have done it without you. Mom and Shay helped us move and helped watch the kids. Chad helped me with all the heavy lifting and packing up the truck. Thank you guys!

Yon Forest

I recently revamped my personal photoblog and named it “Yon Forest.” Click above on the button “Yon Forest” to see my favorite pics and tell me what you think. I got the title “Yon Forest” from one of my favorite songs from Woven Hand called “Down in Yon Forest.” It is my understanding that the song was originally an old English carol written over a hundred years ago. Woven Hand’s version is probably one of the most powerful songs that I have ever heard.
The photo entitled “Tresle Creek” was featured this week on KHQ Evening News. Meteorologist Brian Albrecht features photos, taken by area photographers, on TV in a segment he calls “Brian’s Weather Pictures”.
The template is still under a bit under construction but I have got the meat and potatoes done.

Jacob finished his last soccer game of the season looking pretty darn good. He had a couple goals and hustled all over the field. Congrats buddy! Your daddy sure is proud of his Bubbafish!

The Crazy Intra-nets

I had an exceptionally weird experience on the net today. Last night I made a photoblog for our family site and uploaded some pictures to it. I customized it a bit and then wrote a post about it here on this website. Well this morning there was no evidence that I had did all that work. No SQL database, no Photo directory, no Pixelpost 1.6 Beta, and no post here on this site. It kinda freaked me out because I thought I had dreamt it all up.
Well I will have to do all that work again because my reasoning for doing it was for the greater good. My whole purpose behind uploading a new photoblog to this site was so that I can get away from using Flickr.com. You see Flickr, much like MySpace, has non-filtered public pages that contain adult material. In a nutshell that means kids can have access to pornographic images that bypass internet filters. My main concern is for the innocent eyes of our kids, but I am also concerned about the not so innocent eyes of adults. With the history that I have with crap like this on the internet, it pains me to see people get sucked back into sin by just surfing a so-called “safe” internet site. My heart goes out to the men and women who struggle with this stuff. I can relate to their pain and I am here to say that there is freedom through Jesus Christ. There are many resources online and in your church to get help. A internet resource that I love is “Setting Captives Free” (www.settingcaptivesfree.com). The internet filter that I use is BSafe… although its a bit expensive compared to others.
I digress. Please look forward to seeing our new photoblog up soon (hopefully) and say goodbye to our Flickr page.
